You.Are.Not.A.Factor!
Isn’t that the phrase of the year? I can’t stand her. She gets on my nerves. She thinks she’s all that! You ever had someone just not like you? You get on the bus, take your seat and someone is looking at you sideways. You walk into your salon and there are whispers and necks twisting? Why is that? It couldn’t be you. You haven’t said anything, looked any particular way at anyone to give them the impression that you didn’t care for them. Right? So, what is it? I have a theory, because the same thing happened to Jesus. In John 8:42 Jesus told them, “If that were so, then you would love me, for I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. 43Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you are prevented from doing so! 44For you are the children of your father the devil and you love to do the evil things he does.
This is a kingdom principal and it may sound pretty harsh, however it’s the truth. People dislike you, and don’t understand you, because they are “prevented from doing so”. If a person dislikes you before getting to know you as an individual, that is a testament to the power operating in them. That power can be anything; pain, rejection, jealously, insecurity, fear; all of these characteristic breed disgust and hatred. If God’s word is true and what I am saying sounds right, that leaves the man or woman of God being hated upon to make a decision.
One is to overcome hate with love. That is why Romans 12:20-21 (KJV) says; Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. This scripture is a spiritual key to dealing with people who have a preposition to dislike you. Love them. This is easier said than done and we like to be “hears of the word but not doers”. For example- I used to have a co-worker who disliked me and whenever I would say something or do something she would find a way to say something condescending, but in a “nice voice”. “Oh, so you forgot to make that appointment, again!” God isn’t saying overcome evil with fakeness or disguised evil with a smile.
Overcome evil with good! The only way you can truly do this is by having an understanding of Eph 6:12 (KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We aren’t overcoming our evil brothers and sisters with good. We aren’t wrestling against flesh and blood. You are not wrestling against your boss or your sister, or the girl on the bus. You are wrestling against something that is wrestling within them. Once you get that understanding it puts your heart in a place of compassion for the person, because if it wasn’t for the grace of God you would be wrestling with rejection and hating people too! It also should put your spirit in a place of opposition of the wickedness working in them.
I.Dont.Like.Her should turn into;
I.Bind.That.Spirit
I.Will.Not.Return.Your.Hate
I.Will.Love.You.Anyway.
Lord.Jesus.Please.Help.Me
Overcome evil with good people of God. Let your light shine, the countenance of the grace you have on your life shine through your actions and watch what God can do through your love!
